Evers Agro B.V.

Evers Agro BV has been a manufacturer of passive soil cultivation machines for almost 50 years. Our best-known machines include subsoilers, cultivators and arable injectors. In addition, we manufacture machines for grassland care and the Vario-Disc disk harrow, now copied by other manufacturers all over the world.

Evers Agro will be showcasing the following novelties at the Contract Work Field Days 2011.

The Garanno precision injector

In order to realise an optimal crop yield under more stringent/lower manuring standards, the slurry must be applied as efficiently as possible in places where it is needed most. In other words, in the rows, as closely as possible to the roots. In order to achieve this target, EVERS has developed the place-specific “Garanno” injector. In 2010, this machine has been intensively tested, mainly on maize but also on potatoes. After a few changes, the final model has been drawn up and went into production for the 2011 season. The Garanno injector is used for the last operation before sowing/planting. The slurry is injected in rows which are 75cm apart. With a straight tine and a free passage of 75cm, the soil is loosened up 20 to 40cm deep. The aim is to break up any hard layers, to allow more air into the soil, and to ensure optimal drainage. The next section of tines will then inject the slurry at the required depth into the soil. After injecting the slurry, a roller is used to compact the soil for the best possible seedbed. By using a GPS, the place-specific coordinates can be retained in a digital form. This information will be entered at the sowing combination and the seed will be dropped right on top of the slurry.

Benefits

  • Optimum utilisation of slurry
  • If the soil condition is in order, no extra fertilisation, e.g. in the form of maize mush, will be required
  • Growing a good crops, even in the case of a low phosphate usage standard
  • No loss of capacity while injecting and sowing

As it often happens that much manure has to be applied in a short period of time, Evers Agro has chosen to keep the injection and sowing processes separated. This will prevent the loss of capacity when the seed drill keeps up the injection process. The injection process can be completed before the right time for sowing maize has been reached. The Garanno is available with a 6m working width and 8 subsoiler tines 75cm apart. Various other types and models are also available.

Evers Grass Profi

The Grass Profi is a machine especially designed for maintaining permanent grassland. The Grass Profi levels the land, removes unwanted grasses/weeds, ensures the re-sowing of the land and prepares both the grass seed and the land in one operation. The first operation of the machine is levelling the molehills and other irregularities of the land, using the levelling bar. Using the heavy-duty harrow tines, the turf is subsequently lifted and weeds as well as superficially growing grass (e.g. street grass) is removed. The harrow tines also prepare a seedbed for the grass seed that is sown behind the harrow tines and in front of the Cambridge or Prism PW roll. The built-on seed drill will then dispense the grass seed. The Cambridge or prism rolls push the seed firmly into the soil for adequate germination. The Greenmaster can be used in springtime, between the cuts, as well as in autumn. Regular maintenance of grassland is becoming more popular. The Greenmaster system is a real booster for the turf indeed.

Benefits

  • Preservation of the latest genetics in the turf
  • Increasing the quality / quantity of the yield
  • Preventing re-sow, which comes with substantial losses and expenses

Grass seed suppliers recommend regular maintenance with 8-10 kg/ha a year.
